Welcome back

Hello everyone, I’m back for another summer of work at Sunny Hills Church. I am very excited to be working here again this summer. This is an amazing opportunity for me to get closer to not only God, but this church family as well. I am so thankful for Alan and this church for this opportunity to grow in so many different aspects of my life. I can’t wait to dive back into this amazing work and to writing these blog posts for you all every week.

Last Day

Today was my last day working here at the church for the summer. I started out this morning attending a small group bible study on the sermon this past Sunday. After that bible study I filled up the areas where I removed the mulch and filled them up with river rocks. For lunch today Alan, Joanna, Barbra, my mom, and I all went out to Tokyo to celebrate my last day on the job. After lunch me and Alan went to Walmart to get some more river rocks to finish the job. Then we came back to the church and finished filling the area with rocks. I have made some really good memories here at the church and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be able to work here this summer.

Today’s bible verse is Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” I am so grateful to have been able to work with some amazing people this summer and to learn so much from them. We all worked together through God and our love for him and I think we did some great things together. We were able to have some fun and work together while still serving the Lord. He has a purpose for all of us and he has a plan for everyone and a part of my plan was to work here this summer and work with some great people while also learning more about God and growing closer to him. I am so thankful to everyone that made working here this summer so great.

The Lord is with You

The first thing I did this morning was dig a little trench between the outside wall and the dirt. After that I finished removing all of the mulch from out front. I had some left over mulch that me and Alan put in his garden. After that I swept off the sidewalk. After I finished with that I did a little weedeating for the remainder or the day.

Today’s bible verse is Joshua 1:9 “This is my command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The Lord is always with you no matter where you are. He will never leave you. Be strong and have courage because the Lord is always with you he will never let you down when you need him. You don’t have to be scared when the Lord is with you he will always protect you from what you’re afraid of.

Your Body is a Temple

Today I started out the day watching Alan’s dogs again this morning for a couple of hours. After that I came down to the church and continued to move the mulch. I filled up the front with the mulch so I will have to start taking it to the lighthouse to fill that up with new mulch. After I finished moving it I raked it up and swept the sidewalk to finish off the day.

Today’s bible verse is 1 Corinthians 6:19 “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? you do not belong to yourself.” God created your body so that it was perfect in his eyes. Your body is the temple of the Holy spirit he lives within you so turst him. God made you you didn’t make yourself. You don’t belong to yourself you belong to God.

The first thing I did this morning was watch Alan’s dogs again and hang out with them for a couple of hours. After that I came down to the church and sprayed some weeds around the gravel parking lot out back. I finished out the day raking out the mulch out front and moving it. The mulch out front that I’m moving is going to be replaced with gravel or some rocks when I finish.

Today’s bible verse is 1 John 1:9 “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.” God will forgive all of our sins if we just ask for forgiveness. Through him we can get rid of all the bad things in our lives. Everyone has sinned there isn’t a person alive that hasn’t. If you claim that you haven’t sinned then you are saying that God is lying which never happens. When a person says that God is a liar and then tries to say that they have God and his word in their hearts then they don’t. You can’t accuse him of lying and still have room for him in your heart. Whenever you sin in order to get forgivness all you have to do is ask for it God will forgive you. He will always be faithful to us which is why we should always be faithful to him.
