We get more done together. There’s no “I” in “TEAM.” The US Women’s Soccer team won the World Cup, working together to do something amazing!
Being a part of a church family means having people to partner with to accomplish big things. One thing we like about sports, and we talk about sports a lot at Sunny Hills, is that it reminds us we have a coach (Jesus) and a playbook (the Bible) that helps us compete when life gets tough. We have team members that stand with us and help us get stronger.
Go team!...
That’s right, free donuts for life at Sunny Hills! Each Sunday our “donuts team” brings donuts, muffins, juice, fruit, and other snacks to enjoy before the service. We perk coffee and have hot cocoa and tea available … all free of charge.
Sometimes, when you’re new to a place it helps to “hide” behind a coffee cup. So, feel free to come early (because, sadly, sometimes the donuts DO run out!) at 9:00 to get some snacks and meet some new friends.
Remember, we want our new friends to be comfortable and...
The Bible is the primary teaching tool that God uses in our lives to change us. At Sunny Hills Church we believe the Bible is true, and simply true. We teach and preach the basic truths of the Bible in a way that’s practical, simple, and easy-to-understand.
Many folks at Sunny Hills are new to the Christian faith and appreciate the beauty and joy that Jesus brings to life. Understanding the Bible helps us know Jesus better.
Want to go deeper in the Christian faith? We have in-depth Bible study each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. until 8:00...
A big part of the modern worship experience is singing together on Sunday morning. Sunny Hills has a contemporary “praise and worship” style of music that has these qualities:
Upbeat, heavy guitar and drum lines.
Intimate lyrics addressed directly to God. We don’t sing “about” Him, we offer our singing as a gift of worship to Him.
Easy to sing arrangements. Key ideas repeat. If you don’t “get” the song right away, you’ll get the hang of it quickly.
Projected lyrics instead of hymnal use....
Our church recently updated the website to a more modern look. The framework for the website is the WordPress platform, which provides a great deal of open source options to improve the content delivery. We are also using a theme from the “Elegant Themes” website, entitled “LeanBiz.”
What I like the most is the slider feature on the front page. It allows new visitors to get a quick sense of what our church is about. There are also links that help visitors discover how to become a christian. Our church membership class...
Attending church services should be something to look forward to … something fresh, invigorating, and comfortable. Sunny Hills has adopted a casual and contemporary style of worship.
Our personality is akin to blue jeans and sneakers. Comfortable. “Come as you are.” That kind of thing. When you attend a service here you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the service in a way that makes sense for you. Want another cup of coffee? Just get up, head out to the foyer, and refresh your cup. No problem. Be yourself … okay?
Finding and growing in a loving church family is a key tool that God uses to bring us joy. Life is tough. We face trials and challenges as a routine matter of daily life. We need a group of folks who will stand with us, pray for us, and be a resource of hope in times of need.
Sunny Hills Church is a collection of folk who know what it is to struggle … to search for significance, and discover the meaning and purpose of life. Jesus has called us together to be a reflection of His heart and character in our world.
Building relationships the produce smiles is a major focus of our ministry at Sunny Hills. We want to introduce people to Jesus. We want people to get connected into a loving church family. We want to run and play. Sing. Pray together, and truly mean it when we say, “good to see you again.”
Being more and more like Jesus will help us to be contagious with our smiles and committed to our faith.
We are going to be making some improvements to the exterior of our property:
Exterior lighting.
Expanded parking.
If you have any suggestions about how to proceed, please contact the church office at 228-7599.
Mark 2:13-17 (NLT)
13 Then Jesus went out to the lakeshore again and taught the crowds that were coming to him.
14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Levi got up and followed him.
15 Later, Levi invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. (There were many people of this kind among Jesus’ followers.)
16 But when the teachers of religious law who were...
