After voting 22 – 7 that the Seahawks would repeat as NFL champions for the 2014-15 season, football fans at Sunny Hills Church were left shaking their head in disbelief as a game-defining interception on the 1 yard line sealed the victory for the New England Patriots.
Football is a frequent topic at church, usually college football’s Hokies or Gators are foisted upon the congregation by the Pastor. Recently announcing, “I’m a Cowboys fan!” Pastor Alan really had no team in the “big game” to root for. No matter, the game was good enough without having a side to cheer for.
The Seahawks had the game won. 2nd down on the 1. Hand the ball off the Marshawn Lynch, easy right? One would think. However, someone in the booth over-thought the situation, forgetting the recently quoted slogan “dance with the gal that brought ya'” that should have put the ball into the hands of the Seattle running back for a certain touchdown.
Hey, sometimes we make a simple decision way harder than it has to be. There’s a spiritual principle in there somewhere.
