Our building plans are moving along … slowly … deliberately. We are moving forward in THREE important areas:
1)Â The most important one is that we are building the spiritual capacity of our church through our 5 new “purpose teams.” We’d like all of our members and regular attenders to join one of these five purpose teams:
- Worship. This team will help us worship God more deeply.
- Fellowship. This team will help us get better connected through social activities.
- Discipleship. This team will help us grow in our spiritual life.
- Ministry. This team will help us identify and start new ministries.
- Missions. This team will help us spread the Good News of Jesus more broadly.
To sign up for a team please contact the pastor at 228-7599. Each team has regular planning meetings and conducts at least two church-wide activities each year. The reason this is so important is that we need to grow our spiritual strength as we move forward on the building. We want a good foundation of people to help us move forward.
2) We have a fund raising team that will be leading us through our capital fund raising project in the spring of 2007. The chairman of this committee has been selected and you’ll be hearing more about this later.
3) Our third area of focus is building the physical structure … the actual building. Our architect, builder, and site engineer are working together to develop the complicated plans required to obtain permits and financing. It’s a slow process. Let’s be patient and let things develop.
What can you do RIGHT NOW to help us move forward? Join a purpose team. Pray. Invite a friend to church on Sunday.
