Sunny Hills Church is seeking a person to lead our Preschool Ministry. This is a part-time position of 5 to 7 hours per week, $13 per hour.

Thank you for serving Jesus through this ministry! Preschooler ministry is an essential part of our church’s presence in our community.
Purpose: Your job is to put parents at ease by providing a quality preschool ministry experience for their little ones. You are a “stranger” to a new mom or dad visiting Sunny Hills for the first time, so the level of ministry we provide must overcome their natural hesitation of trusting their kids to strangers.
Duties: We want our preschool area to be a safe and caring place where preschoolers can experience the love of God and learn basic Bible messages on Sunday mornings. Your job is to ensure these little ones thrive while they are with us. Specifically you will:
— Prepare and lead a Sunday morning preschool lesson using provided curriculum.
— Enlist, train, and evaluate a team of preschool volunteers to assist in the ministry.
— Care for the ministry needs of preschooler and volunteer’s families during the week. You will connect via social platforms, personal calls, texts, and visits as appropriate.
When to arrive: You need to be “ready for kids” at 9:00 a.m. This means you’ll want to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to check the preschool area for cleanliness and be sure it’s ready to go. The official “teaching time” is from 9:30 to 10:30 am, but families will arrive before then, and remain afterwards for some time.
Tips: Here are some ideas that people have picked up through the years.
· You never know how many you’ll have. One, none, or six … it’s important to be adaptable.
· Remember the parents need your care as much as, or maybe even more than, the child. The kids are going to be fine and have a great morning … the nervous mom needs your encouragement.
· Get the name and cell number of the parents and let them know you will text them if they are needed in the preschool area.
· Coordinate with the nursery team leader and the KIDLight team leader to ensure we have a positive experience ready for the entire family.
Safety: Make sure that the person who drops the child with you is the same person who picks up the child. If in doubt, text the number you were given so you can see if this person gets the message. Never cover the glass window in the door. Always be alert to safety hazards.
Pay: The hourly rate is $13 per hour, with time varying from 5 to 7 hours per week. This includes two hours on Sunday morning, 8:45 am to 10:45 am, and any additional time needed to prepare for Sunday, and ministry care to families during the week (phone calls, visits, etc.).
Supervisor: The preschool leader is employed by Sunny Hills Church and supervised by the Pastor.
