At our Palm Sunday service of the Lord’s Supper we reflected on the meaning of “The Eucharist” which is from a root word for “thanksgiving.” Folks in attendance wrote out prayers of thanksgiving which were read during the celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
Here are a few of the prayers …
“God, I thank you for my wonderful family — both my blood Kin and my brothers and sisters in Chrst here at Sunny Hills.”
“Thank you God for clearing my mind and focusing it anew upon You.”
“We’re thankful for out health and our Sunny Hills family!”
“I am very thankful for every blessing in my life. My health, my freedom, my husband, and my three beautiful children, my family, my church family and for Jesus dying on the cross fro my sins. I am very thankful that I can worship God freely in my everyday life.”
“Thank You, Lord for bringing us all together, under this roof, to be on great family. I am so glad to be part of Sunny Hills and to serve You.”
“We are thankful for Alan and Kim and Sunny Hills Church helping us grow closer to God.”
“God, bless our church and thank You for sending Your son to die on the cross. Thank You Jesus. Amen.”
“I am thankful for my family, job, and especially thankful for our new house! I’m also thankful to have found a church I feel very comfortable at.”
“I am thankful for God’s GRACE!!! I am thankful for the comfort that only God can give!”
“I am thankful for love of family and friends, my church family, and work family, and mostly for the lvoe of Jesus Chrsit. He loved me enough to die on the cross for me. I am truly blessed.”
“Dear God, Thank you for helping me find ways of using the negative happenings in my life to positive ends and for the mindfulness that has given me.”
“I am thankful for the gifts God continues to put in my life. Our family, friends, church, jobs, and the beautiful area of the county that God has led us to.”
“We give thanks to God for bringing our family back together and for bringing our family back to Him.”
“Lord, There are so many facets of my life that deserve thanks to you that it’s difficult to put them all into words. First, is coming to know You. Then there are the blessings of health, comfort, the joy of sharing these blessings, and last, but hardly least, a wonderfully loving family. I am truly blessed, and I thank You!”
