During last Sunday’s NFL playoffs two teams handled their last 30 seconds very differently.
1) The Denver Broncos got the ball on their side of the field, tied, with 30 seconds left to play. Peyton Manning took a knee (to the collective boo’s of the hometown crowd!) and decided to win it in overtime, which they didn’t. They lost.
2) The Falcons got the ball with 30 seconds left, down 1. They drove the ball down the field, set up and field goal, and won the game.
I know there’s a difference, obviously, between “tied” and “down 1.” But, HEY DENVER BRONCOS, you have Peyton Manning, the ball, and 30 seconds to go 40 yards. And you take a knee? It’s embarrassing.
Good job Falcons for not giving up after the Seahawks amazing 4th quarter comeback.
